Field update
One rulebook, every unit
dWars v0.6.102 · 1 November 2026
Shells arm in flight, drones land before they recharge, each machine dies its own death - and damage aimed at your base lands again.
Changed
- Shells and grenades arm as they fly. An unarmed round passes over terrain; an armed one stops at the first wall it meets, unless that wall belongs to the building it was aimed at. A grenade that comes down in open ground strikes the ground there.
- Drones land before they recharge. Resting on the ground is a state a drone enters, rather than a guess from its speed and animation, so recharging, targeting, attacks from above and the rotor fold all agree on where it is.
- Each machine dies its own death. Tanks, Rollers and turrets burn for two seconds, a base for three, Drones and Supply Bots for half a second, and each leaves a wreck for the rest of a ten-second hold.
- A detonation spreads its fragments. A shell or grenade releases one fragment per tick in a scattered order instead of all eight at once, and the fireball comes from the round itself rather than a separate explosion.
- Whatever pulses feeds your supply. The supply field is rooted by any unit whose state pulses, not only by one of type Base.
- Turrets aim by traversing, and keep the heading you built them on. The build facing has its own field instead of borrowing the firing timer's.
Fixed
- Damage aimed at a base lands again. Spawn requests shared storage with the first unit slot's target list, which is a base's, so hits on that base were read as spawn requests and lost.
- A Petrol Station's drop survives a full coin field. The station banks the energy for your team until a coin slot frees up.
- A battalion with no movement point placed no longer reads as having an unreachable route. The empty leg counted against the map's own path-health check and held this build back.
Known issues
- Level play is consolidating on Nesa as its only hero. Elle's building orders move to her, and those controls are not designed yet.
- Structure, upgrade and hero-skill prices remain provisional while the energy economy is tuned.
- Nesa's order panel shows no prices, and an owned skill looks the same as one you have not bought.
- Recordings made before 0.6.101 may not replay exactly, following the hero death, structure and ordnance changes.
A shell that doesn't know it's armed is only a rock. I'm told this is obvious. - Nesa
